R&F Pigment Sticks review

Translucent Set Includes 38ml sticks in:

  • Alizarin Orange 4
  • Alizarin Crimson 4
  • Egyptian Violet 5
  • Indian Yellow 4
  • Ultramarine Blue 3
  • Viridian 5
  • packaged in Ampersands 6.5"x 7.5" cradled Gessobord™

I always have a difficult time finding a saturated pure chartreuse color, Gamblin has one but its a series 4 opaque. But then I was at Utrecht and saw this gorgeous Cadmium Green! This is such a rich, saturated, luminous from within, pure pigment!! It is pricey but it is a rare color and in such dense form.
The sticks are wrapped in protective label and the tip is covered in plastic
My favorite part is the air-tight packaging!! The oil has not even formed a film around the stick! I have not seen such secure packaging in the lower priced oil sticks.
Swatch of the oil sticks without mediums/solvents

The sticks cut with a little Terpenoid odorless mineral spirit(I don't even use pure Turpentine)

Overall I love these sticks!! Very luminous and highly pigmented. They are very buttery and require little clean-up because of their packaging. A+++!
You can order these from R&F site WWW.RFPAINTS.COM
I recommend getting a set, they have Opaque set, Transparent set, Figure Drawing set because you get the sticks at about %50 cheaper in bulk. The sets also have high series number sticks in them
Mine are from Utrecht with a %10 student discount
